Released during the summer of 2000, Output’s debut compilation served as a clearly defined notion of the label’s manifesto in a sonically arresting collage of diverse noise data. Demonstrating the ethos of developing artists who meld traditionally disparate stylings, while hosting others whose music is so quizzical in structure that it drops out of the equation altogether. The stage is set with Fridge’s 15 minute epic painkiller ‘Anglepoised’. Also included are classic Output releases from Fourtet, 7-Hurtz, Sonovac and Gramme as well as two tracks that were at the time forthcoming but have since gone on to storm dancefloors internationally: LBs’s cover of James’s Brown’s ‘Superbad’ and the fantastic euro-pounding of Black Strobe’s ‘Innerstrings’.
